Who We Are

The Children of the Book Reading Camp is an initiative of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and led by certified teachers and lay professionals from the parish and supported by other community leaders.

OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

 

Kali Simko (Co-Director) is an an ESL and ELA teacher at Jefferson Middle School.  She has previously taught at summer reading camps through the YMCA.  She oversees the overall running of the reading camp and partner reading.

Cheri Burk (Co-Director) is an Art teacher at Clymer High School. She oversees the overall running of the camp, guest speakers, and field trips.

CillaMenziesPriscilla Menzies is a Special Education teacher at Washington Middle School with 12 years of experience in the Jamestown Public Schools.  She has previously run summer reading camps at Washington Middle School. She oversees the partner reading program.

Lisa Stahlman Colby is currently a General Education teacher at Persell Middle School and a former Literacy Specialist in the Jamestown Public Schools with over 20 years experience.  She has previously run summer reading camps at Persell Middle School. She oversees the curriculum for the camp.

Catherine Way is a librarian by training but a book lover by passion.  She is the retired director of the James Prendergast Library and the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System. She is the Treasurer for the Reading Camp and for St. Luke’s Church.

Luke Fodor (Rector) is the priest at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and spent two years during graduate school working as a literacy tutor in the New York City Public Schools.
